Returns to original departure point
Emerge early and depart from central Belfast in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan destined for the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Giant’s Causeway. Along the way, listen to legends surrounding the formation of the mystifying natural wonder that consists of hexagonal rock columns that fit together like a puzzle. Climb the coastal stones, listen to intriguing myths, and feel the invigorating ocean breeze as you spend some leisurely time at the natural landmark.

Travel the scenic Antrim Road to the famous Carrickfergus Castle, an impressive Norman fortress considered one of Northern Ireland’s best preserved. Hear of the structure’s intriguing history before traveling to the Old Mushmills Distillery, home to one of Ireland’s favorite brands of the amber nectar. Revitalize with lunch at the distilleries bar (own expense), and purchase special whiskey-related souvenirs from the gift shop (own expense).

Then, it's onto the famous Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. On arrival, conquer your fears and walk tentatively across the rickety bridge suspended 100 feet (30 meters) above the crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean (own expense). If you’d prefer to keep your adrenaline levels stable, opt for a bracing walk along the coast instead.

Relax during the scenic journey back to Belfast, which passes the medieval Dunluce Castle, and bid your guide farewell in central Belfast.

We had the most fantastic tour guide, Patrick, who has excellent story telling abilities, was extremely kind and incredibly funny. The sites were great and they were made that bit better through his expertise and commentary - would highly recommend!

The best thing about the trip was Stephen the driver, who was a wealth of knowledge, he kept the whole trip an interesting and often humorous day. We would thoroughly recommend anyone to take this trip.

The Giant’s Causeway is spectacular - well worth the trip but we weren’t expecting to be so enchanted by the journey to get there on the coast road

Fantastic day out

Very well organised from the start, welcomed to the tour bus on time, although a bit surprised to be a combined tour with the Game of Thrones ( never watched it). Itinerary was explained clearly by Stephen our guide and driver for the day. being punctual on returning to the coach and bathroom breaks was his mantra for the day. Really interesting commentary throughout the drive, explaining the background and pointing out various landmarks, building, background history to many of the villages and towns we passed through, enjoyed the castle stop, Giants Causeway history of Finn MaCool building of the Causeway ! Well organised lunch break for the people who wanted in the pub, Stephen even organised the weather which enabled us to see Scotland. I am sure the Game of Thrones element was of interest but did not spoil our day. Very well done to Stephen our driver & host for an excellent, humorous, timely (arrived back bang on time), educational tour along the Antrim coast. Recommend this company to everyone.

Bad customer service experience

I booked the trip late afternoon day before the trip, unfortunately I had a bad allergic reaction and migraine and wasn’t able to go. I couldn’t even get it rescheduled nor partially refunded. I called Viator CS and they were going to contact the tour company for a reschedule but nothing was resolved. I ended up using a different tour company AND booking with them directly.

Really enjoyed our trip which due to some of the locations being closed due to Covid had been combined with a Game of Thrones trip. Fabulous value for money as it was a full day and got to places we would never have know about or gone to otherwise. Stevie our driver was amazing- he had local knowledge which he happily shared and we had a very well organised and efficient lunch service at the Fullerton. So glad we went as we were out until 2am the night before so the early start was a bit of a thought but it was well worth the effort! Thanks so for a great day 👍🏻
