Make your own way to Berlin’s Schöneberg district at the previously agreed upon time and meet your guide and small group of no more than four people.

After discussing the day’s menu with your guide, head to the Winterfeldtmarkt, one of Berlin’s most popular farmer’s markets, to purchase the ingredients needed for your cooking class. Browse some of the 200 stalls, as you shop for organic meats or fish, fresh fruits and vegetables, and herbs and spices. Along the way, listen as your guide points out unique condiments, regional delicacies, Turkish treats, or rare finds such as wild herbs, edible flowers, and foraged mushrooms.

After ample time at the market, follow your guide back to their home kitchen, a short stroll from the marketplace. Stop along the way at a selection of artisan shops, where you’ll have a chance to sample or purchase items such as handmade chocolates or regional wines.

On arrival at your guide’s home, it’s time to get hands-on in the kitchen as you whip a 4-course lunch of traditional German cuisine. Pick up tips and techniques from your expert guide as you prepare a variety of different dishes, and learn more about Germany’s rich culinary heritage.

Finally, sit down to enjoy the fruits of your labor—a delicious homecooked lunch, accompanied by a glass of German beer or wine.

With your appetite sated, continue exploring Berlin’s Schöneberg district independently or make your own way back to your hotel.

My fiancee and I like to take...

My fiancee and I like to take cooking classes when traveling. Kit's class was great. It was close to the market where we bought everything fresh, we learned some history, and all about the ingredients for what we were making. This was also German food, not Bavarian pretzels, schnitzel, etc. Her kitchen was beautiful and it was fun having a small, personal class. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a class.
