The instructions were really nice. I learned quite a bit, had a blast, and definitely plan on doing another class of theirs next time I’m in Tokyo. It’s fun if you’re with your friend, significant other, or even solo like myself

It was a nice afternoon of making an assortment of sushi which we got to eat. There was lots to eat so go on an empty tummy!

Amazing Japanese Cuisine-experience in Tokyo

During my first visit to Japan, I decided to reside primarily in Tokyo and try to discover and learn as much about the local tradition and culture, as much as I can. An integral cultural part of any country is their culinary tradition. Our host Yumi is a lovely Japanese lady, born and raised in Tokyo. Throughout the workshop, she wasn't just our competent and experienced instructor, but also our tour-guide in this virtual journey, to discover Japan's most traditional dishes. Yumi taught us good Japanese table-manners, alongside the step-by-step tutorial of 8 key recipes of the Japanese cuisine: Tamagoyaki (rolled eggs), Inari age (rice-stuffed fried Tofu pockets), Sushi topping shrimp, Sushi rice, Hosomaki (thin roll), California roll, Nigiri and Miso Soup. Yumi was a lovely host and thorough instructor. She ensured we were following and keeping-up with her instructions. She ensured we were at ease and assisted whenever it was needed. This is a workshop that I recommend to people who visit Tokyo and want to have a hands-on approach to local cuisine.

This class was one of the highlights of our time in Tokyo. We love sushi, and have always wanted to be better at making rolls ourselves, and this class helped us a great deal. We are bringing home recipes to assist in the process. It was also a very fun afternoon, and at the end, we got to eat our samples. My son is convinced that he made the best looking sushi, but as far as I am concerned, I was the star of the family!
